Meet Rebecca Shapiro, CGC
Rebecca Schapiro, MS, CGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor who combines extensive scientific expertise with valuable industry experience. She earned her master’s degree in genetic counseling from Stanford University, where she received comprehensive training in prenatal, cancer, pediatric, and cardiovascular genetics, as well as variant interpretation.
Rebecca is passionate about helping expectant families access the information they need to make informed decisions throughout their pregnancies. She is dedicated to providing compassionate guidance, personalized support, and clear communication, empowering patients to navigate complex and often emotional decisions.
Before pursuing genetic counseling, Rebecca worked in the biotechnology industry, contributing to the development and commercialization of innovative therapeutics. Her unique background enables her to bring both scientific rigor and a patient-centered perspective to her practice.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time outdoors in Truckee, California, with her husband and children.
