Lead Genetic Counselor
I was drawn to genetic counseling for many reasons. I love the sciences and was fascinated by genetics in school, but never wanted to work in a lab setting. When I discovered genetic counseling, it was the perfect career path for me — working in a field I was interested in, and having the ability to interact with people on a daily basis.
I really enjoy my role as a genetic counselor, serving as an advocate for our patients — at their side — helping them fully understand everything that is happening. We excel at clearly explaining complex medical terms in a way our patients will understand. Providing comprehensive, detailed information — in understandable terms — empowers them to make decisions that are best for them and their babies.
My main goal is to put our patients and their family at ease, every step of the way. I want them to understand what concerns there may be in their pregnancy, and why. I feel it’s very important to be a support person for them — someone they know they can call and talk to about any concerns or fears they may have.
