As a hospital-based nurse practitioner, I often see patients when they are stressed and afraid. From the moment they are admitted to the hospital, I make it my job to put them at ease, evaluating their condition, spending time by their bedside, educating them and offering comfort.

I spent 20 years as a registered nurse (RN) in labor, delivery and postpartum care before becoming a nurse practitioner in 2013. From that experience, I learned the importance of supporting and building relationships with my patients so they never feel alone. I focus on their overall well-being and not just the conditions that brought them to the hospital.

Being a nurse practitioner allows me to be your best advocate when you are hospitalized, serving as your doctor’s eyes and ears throughout the day to ensure you get the right diagnosis and treatment. I work closely with the High Risk Pregnancy Center’s team of MFM specialists, gathering information, doing rounds and developing your plan of care. I feel blessed to be working with such experienced, dedicated and compassionate doctors to help you through your pregnancy.

Michelle Crawford began working with the High Risk Pregnancy Center in 2015 and believes this is the best nursing experience she’s ever had based on the quality of the doctors and their appreciation for what she does. She has three children, and when she’s not chauffeuring them from one event to another, she loves to travel.
