Meet Lauren Musgrove, CGC
I have had a love for science ever since childhood, and always knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. Being a genetic counselor is a perfect blend of having a strong background in science, while being able to work with patients — in order to help them in any way I can.
I really enjoy my role as a genetic counselor. Our high level of training ensures that we are providing the best care, resources, information and support to our patients, as caregivers. We are focused on patient-first care. That means always taking the time to provide our patients with comprehensive, detailed information and clarification about their situation, while being understanding and highly supportive.
We never let patients leave our offices without knowing exactly what the ultrasound is showing us. Every patient under our care knows what we see — and what concerns there may be during the pregnancy — fully understanding the what-when-why and the range of treatment approaches available to them. I believe it is very important to clearly explain exactly what is occurring during my patient’s pregnancy and what their issues or concerns are — as well as what testing and assistance we will be providing to them — throughout the pregnancy.
